Rainy day decluttering

What to do on a rainy day?

It’s raining today and everyone’s stuck inside. What are you going to do to keep the kids occupied and lift their spirits on a dull, grey day? How about a decluttering scavenger hunt? Even children can benefit from an organized space, and learning decluttering skills early will make for lifelong habits. Make it fun and non-emotional.

Five-minute challenge

Do a five-minute challenge: Find 5 things in their room that are just straight trash that can be thrown away, find 5 things that have a home somewhere else and take them there, and find 5 things that they no longer use or want that can be donated. If they have siblings, make it a race to see who can finish first. If you need a common room cleaned up, make it a race to see who can find the most things in 5 minutes.

Benefits of decluttering

You would be amazed how much a 5-minute reset can transform a space and even improve your mood. So keep the kids busy, teach them life skills, and calm the stress clutter causes in your nervous system, all in 5 minutes! Make your rainy day a great day instead of just a grey day!
