The Power of an Hour

Decluttering, grouping, and alphabetizing a bookshelf can all be accomplished in an hour.

In just one hour we went through two boxes full of memories that needed to be curated and found homes for them where they would be appreciated. We also removed some trash, things that belonged elsewhere, and donations, and did some basic organizing. In just one hour, you can choose progress over perfection!

5 minutes and a few canning jars that were in danger of becoming garage clutter turned this problem area into a pretty, practical shelf for a busy baker. If you are decanting, make sure you only do so with things you use up quickly. Or, write the expiration date on the bottom of the jar in dry erase or liquid chalk marker.

Use the space between containers as its own container. It saves you money in product and gives you more storage space.

Closet Organization Solutions

On this high closet shelf, a tote just made clothes harder to use, especially with things stacked on it. Ten minutes and a set of inexpensive wire shelf dividers transformed this space. Smaller, contained stacks mean no messy leaning towers. Sort by use (not color) and put infrequently used items in the harder-to-reach corner.
